In the autumn of 2019, our young family (Tom, Sarah, Sam, James and Josselin) took the brave step of uprooting from the hustle and bustle of the city, and replanting ourselves in the wilds of mid Wales. Soon after, we were joined by my nephew Charlie, and from our new home, an old stone Smithy set in 4.5 acres of sloping pasture, we have started the long journey of creating a market garden, specialising in soft fruits, salads, veg and cut flowers.
The main growers
The main growers are Tom Edwards, and his nephew Charlie Felton. We have combined our varied skill sets in ecology and construction to form a productive small farm. Our aim is to gradually develop the land into a regenerative market garden, that follows sustainable and organic principles, and to supply the local area with the freshest produce. Using no dig principles, our strategy is to capitalise on the natural benefits of the south facing site, improve the soil, and ensure we create an ethical business that benefits the local ecology, as well as the local community.
